My pms debug log: http://pastebin.com/VZj3Smjf rah July 23, 2012 at 10:44 pm | Permalink service ps3mediaserver stop was failing because it didn't have permission to remove the ps3mediaserver.pid file. Reply John July 9, 2012 at 5:40 pm | Permalink Amazing tutorial! To test this out, I used the exact command that PMS is using to render the video except I modify the output file to send it to my Desktop. I'm thinking it will impact only a few people but I prefer to make a quick v1.10.1 before it's too late :) PS3 Media Server v1.10 - Changes / Features : get redirected here

Alex Reply SophieDogg July 29, 2012 at 4:09 pm | Permalink Double check that the folders you have specified have the correct permissions. One of the last things we need to do is make a small change to the last line of our PMS.sh script, to allow it to run in the background, and A better engine election system (or improved .confs) could definitely help here because we know exactly which engines are best suited for which MediaInfo. But from what I understand of ASS, it's a subset of SSA/newer standard of SSA.

Here is a changelog of most of the biggest changes: Support new devices: Android, Nokia N900 Improved support for XBMC Support MKV header compression in most MKV files (less "data corrupted" extends Player> profileClass, final DLNAMediaInfo mediaInfo) { .... } XenoPhex commented Jul 12, 2012 Maybe we can rename #TRANSCODE# to something more friendly like Other languages or Select audio/subs. Changelog wrote:Rollback MPlayer for Windows to fix critical subtitle bug Add extra information to Windows uninstaller Fix NPE when toggling HTTP Engine V2 PS3 Media Server 1.21.0 is released There have One additional change was made to the /usr/local/share/pms/renderers/XBOX360.conf file to allow avi streaming to the XBox 360.

  1. Improvement in that section can still be achieved; it means we need to start figuring out "supported" lines for all .confs instead of the lists of extensions that most .confs use.
  2. cd /etc/init.d chmod +x ps3mediaserver chkconfig --add ps3mediaserver chkconfig --level 345 ps3mediaserver on Now, we can start the ps3mediaserver and be done!
  3. sudo apt-get install ffmpeg ffmpeg -i input.mts -a:c copy -v:c copy testoutput.mp4 This will be completely lossless, since all it's doing is transferring the video to a new container.
  4. RECENTLY UPDATED = The software has been updated the last 31 days.
  5. z/download - Auto rotation of images based on EXIF orientation, only on PS3 - New option to start basic streaming in the #transcode folder (request of meskibob) - Static UUID, multiple
  6. My impression was that @XenoPhex was talking about SSA/ASS.
  7. Free software/Ads = Free software and open source code but supported by advertising, usually with a included browser toolbar.
  8. It was more that PMS 1.54.0 and the latest snapshot react differently in determining their choice of MEncoder vs.
  9. This is very important.

Freeware = Free software. Pictures (.jpg) and MP3's both stream fine from the PC to the TV. I'm not smart/current enough to tell if it's unnecessarily downsampling my audio or not, but we're up and running. - Charles Top Morty-L Posts: 2 Joined: Wed Dec 11, 2013 11:33 Reply Owen August 27, 2013 at 7:40 am | Permalink Great tutorial thanks!

SSA do work, but ASS do not. Reply Rick February 9, 2013 at 9:54 am | Permalink WOW I went to the /root/.config/PMS/pms.conf file and added the folders = /usr/local/share/media and it worked!!! All works perfectly! Exiting... XenoPhex commented Jul 7, 2012 Screw it, I'll just pay the 99 cents. What I was trying to get at, and I apologize if I was a unclear, was that the only time I was able to get the 5.1 into the system was

Reply John July 10, 2012 at 10:13 am | Permalink Thanks, looks like setting the correct permissions made the trick. I'd even go so far as to say that these names should only show the track properties in cases where the title is not set. In order to do this we are going to edit the /usr/local/share/pms/PMS.sh file. useful reference Add the experimental mencoder build for multicore on OSX .

PS3 Media Server member Happy-Neko commented Jul 7, 2012 I completed first iteration of DLNAMediaSubtitle refactoring. @XenoPhex and @Raptor399 please test if HEAD works for you. You could also try using a single non-cifs folder, check if that works, then try one cifs folder by itself, test, then move back to your multiple cifs folder setup. Basically engine choice is determined by thee factors: input format output format (ps3ms's config and renderer's config) engine's ability to transform input format into requested output format ExSport commented Jul 12, this page its awsome.

Let me run this against a couple different set files and let me get back to you. Reload to refresh your session. Default [Mencoder] option with autoselected (by priority) tracks works too. Fixed channels order with tsMuxer engine's DTS->AC3 option .
