reply My service is already and was already disabled. My burning started immediately and it didnt get stuck at pre-burn anymore. I didn't realise that turning writing off using the inbuilt explorer "burn to CD" option didn't actually diable the Imapi service - it was apparently loaded when writing to a disc!
