Power Calibration Error Memorex

That worked! Im currently burning again. Perfect for Internet, Not for heavy usage or gaming however. Another suggestion was to disable APM in power settings but mine was already disabled so that's not going to help obviously. http://spamdestructor.com/power-calibration/power-calibration-area-error-memorex.php

I tried 2 different fresh TDK packs, and a philips too. mine was SONY CD/DVD ROM hope it works for u.. I've had this version of XP SP2 on my pc for over a year. I would wager that if you swapped the Memorex for Ritek G04's, the problem would not reoccur.

I could not get it to do anything after that but read. The DVD burner burns single layer with no problems, and works ok with rewritable media both CD and DVD. I had this happen three times.

The burner burnt RW's but not ordinary disks which caused a lot of problems with an overseas programme I was working on and missed the boat.

Perfect for Internet, Not for heavy usage or gaming however. I always burn at lowest possible speed with good media; makes better quality burns. I suggest that you download Nero DiscSpeed from nero.com and run the Benchmark and Create Disc tests. Would have to say that this is a masterstroke.

Also, some brands sold today many produce a good quality of CDs then as the CD die machine declines during the latter patch runs, in other words, the quality goes down. I started down the list, and the second one did it! what do you know? Going to try drive firmware.

Please type your message and try again. Thank you, I was about to rip out my drive and throw it in the skip. Good thing you didn't attack it with the lens cleaner. Well, from a blog it was reported by someone having this same issue.
