After trying several I now use nothing but Verbatim. I re-enable the IMAPI service and has nothing to do with the power calibration error. The second is dust. Or it's possible the Circuit board on your Recorder has an open Coil or blown diode or resistor.

i used d disk cleaning cd then...it did'nt worked out.. It's better than opening your drive to clean lense...glad I didn't listen to that option. Sorted now though! I enabled the "Drive Speed" Control option in Nero burner and it's now burning fine with 8x on the same cd that gave the error before.

I suggest that you download Nero DiscSpeed from nero.com and run the Benchmark and Create Disc tests. Cheap media is inconsistent, and will frequently give hit or miss results during the power calibration. Many thanks! The CD/DVD driver from Toshiba website fixed the problem.
