Verify that the executable is now c:\windows\system32\spoolsv.exe9. make sure the extension is exe (you might have to left click the file and add the last e), double click it. right click my computer, click manage, on the left click services and applications, click services. I can think of two possible explanations: 1. I have the same problem on my Acer computer but your solution to copy the file from the windows cd is not possible since when I bought it (best Buy) there Nope, I still get the same error: "Windows could not load the installer for Image." I guess all the SPs that came for XP were all corrupt to begin with.
