i have pro tools le 6.7 with mbox 1. my and broadscotch's issue was that hyperthreading was causing conflicts with anything set above 8 cores. i have a dell dimension 3000 w/celeron r cpu 2.66 ghz. Mac Pro 5,1 - 2.4ghz 8-core Westmere - 32gb RAM. 10.6.8. Strangely, going to 8 cores (of 16) does the trick. The internal drive is extremely unlikely to work. So, is only solution for both problems just buy Mac?
